About the Band

John Purchase has a proud tradition of excellence with its band programme and we take great pride in giving children at the school the opportunity to learn and instrument and grow musically. Our bands have been very successful over the years and have won numerous awards for their efforts. The Band Programme is run by a sub committee of the P&C in cooperation with the school. We offer a comprehensive music programme that caters for a diverse range of musical abilities.

 
Our Goals are to:
 
• give students the opportunity to learn and experience music
• make the programme as accessible as possible to all students
• to instill a sense of team spirit and a sense of responsibility
 

Our Bands

We offer three bands that perform at different levels to meet the musical abilities of our students
 
Training Band - for students with little or no musical experience (must be in year 3 or above)
Intermediate Band - for students that have moved beyond the beginners level
Performance Band - The premier band with our most experienced musicians
